I have chosen to make a statement to the following companies using my wallet, my blog, and my voice. I will never again return to these companies and I urge you to do the same.
Allied Van Lines (since 2011)
See my blog post on this one. Allied Van Lines has a great reputation, but they have no control over their affiliates. Their affiliate Coleman Amerian basically broke a bunch of our stuff during a cross-country move due to a crappy driver, and then stalled us and our claim until it was past the date to handle it.
United Airlines (since 2008)
See my blog post on this one. I had to go out to California to visit with my Grandfather for his final week of life. United Airlines served us up a doozy when we extended our stay and basically took our money. They don't care about repeat customers, only getting your ticket money.
Best Buy (since 2008)
See my blog post on this one. This company handles all customer problems with blanket policies. They do not make it easy for customers to resolve these problems. Out of all of these companies, this is the only one I am sad about. :(
Walmart and Sam's Club (since 2008)
What can I say? Walmart is cheaper. MUCH cheaper! But at what cost to our communities and other nations? And customer service? Forget about it... Support your local small business. Your local economy will thank you. You may pay a small percentage more, but you'll also be helping local business owners and their families.
Tuffy Auto Service Center (since 2007)
See my blog post on this one. They do not tell their employees how to treat a customer. They also drive your car like it's their own, speeding through the parking lot, screeching tires, and more. And forget about bringing this up to a manager...
7-11 (since 2002)
The only people in this company with any customer service training are at the corporate offices. However, after the first incident, you will be written off as a troublemaker. To make things worse, their company policies treat every customer as a thief first, and customer second. I do not even go into their parking lot. I pay easily 10 cents more per gallon of gas and I will drive an extra 10 miles to keep my money out of their grasp.
McDonalds (since 1996)
This fast food chain is probably the worst at treating its customers with respect and consideration - especially when it comes to health issues. However, this one is the best at marketing directly to children and that is NOT ACCEPTABLE. They are also responsible for the U.S. having only 7 slaughter houses, resulting in us having up to 1,000 different cows in a single hamburger. Unfortunately, that's any hamburger now. I do not even spend other people's money there!
