DotNetNuke File Manager - File Attributes

The DotNetNuke File Manager module is great. It allows you to create, modify, delete, and assign permissions to folders that the end-users may have access to.  It also does many other management tasks, not the least of which is renaming a file. This is accomplished by clicking the pencil icon next to the file name.

Once that happens, more than just the file name is exposed for editing. You also are able to modify the file attributes.  But what do those letters mean?

I recently ran across the answer to this information and thought that you might want to know.  Here is the key:

  • R - Read Only
  • H - Hidden
  • S - Indexing Service
  • A - Archive
